ARTWORK GUIDELINES

Adobe Illustrator

1. Save as an Illustrator file
2. Save without placed images
3. Supply all files needed (fonts, EPSs, TIFFs).

Macromedia FreeHand - converts to Illustrator easily

1. Save as an original FreeHand Illustration or EPS.
2. Supply all files needed (fonts, EPSs, TIFFs).

Quark Xpress - conversion to program used for outputting required

This format is acceptable. Designs will be converted to aid in printing. Use Illustrator when possible to avoid conversions.

Photoshop Files

1. SAVE ALL SCANS @ 300 DPI
2. .25" BLEED REQUIRED
3. CROP & RESIZE PROPORTIONALLY
4. CONVERT TO CMYK
5. Save as CMYK Photoshop or;
6. EPS
* 8 Bit Macintosh preview
* Binary encoding
* Transfer function off
* Halftone screens off

E-Mail - checked from Monday - Friday

Sending your files:

1. Address: Type art@trisoftco.com
2. To: Type Sales & Estimating Representative's name.
3. Attach all required files including linked images & fonts.
4. Give a short description of the file and phone number.
5. Allow e-mail software to do its own compression.
6. Supply return e-mail address if different from sent address.

Receiving and reviewing your proofs:

1. Proofs are saved as Acrobat PDF files unless otherwise specified by client. Acrobat Reader can be downloaded from Adobe's site
2. Get attachment and review in Acrobat Reader
3. IF APPROVED: Print out, sign print out and fax back to Trisoft Graphics Inc.
4. IF CHANGES ARE REQUIRED: Make appropriate changes on a NEW file. DO NOT SEND OUR PROOF PAGE BACK TO Trisoft Graphics. Send your new file with the changes following seps 1-6 in Sending Your Files.

Average Registration Tolerances: +/- .0156" (1/64")

Copy Considerations:

* Make type sizes no smaller than 4 points in positives
* Make type sizes no smaller than 5 points in inverses
* Make line weights no thinner than .35 points in positives
* Make line weights no thinner than .75 points in inverses
* Provides all fonts used or outline all fonts
* Drop shadows without a keyline can cause registration problems
* Bleeds should be .125" off edge of label

Recommended Design Registration Tolerances: +/- .0312" (1/32")

Color Considerations:

* Screens and solids do not always run together. (When ran together, the solid color could be 1 - 2 shades lighter in order to keep the screens clean. Example: 4 color processss has a Screen Black and solid black type)
* Bitmap / rasterized graphics should be 300 dpi. Saved as EPS and scaled in Photoshop.
* Consider using a single spot color when possible and stay away from knock-outs in multiple colors (ie: Process). A 1 point keyline of solid black or any other dark solid spot color used in the design will ensure quality reproduction.
* Minimum trap is 1 pt.

1. All files supplied on disk should be accompanied with a color print out with pantone colors specified.
2. Please supply necessary files only.
3. If using other than the standard postscript fonts, please call customer service for availability.
4. Include all "placed" (EPS or TIFFs) imagesas separate files on the disk. This allows us to perform "Dot Gain" cutback.
5. ALI is not responsible for damage to media or files. Send copies of the files only: DO NOT SEND ORIGINAL FILES.
6. Diskettes will be returned only upon request.
7. Updated version of art will be available only after the invoice has been paid.
8. All media will be retained on file as a working backup. If return is requested, Ampersand is not responsible for the condition of the documents or retention of any art data.
